David A Porter

MD, PhD

David Porter, MD, Ph.D. is a graduate of Ball State University and earned his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine. Dr Porter also received his Ph.D in Human Bioenergetics (Sports and Exercise Physiology) from Ball State University’s internationally recognized Human Performance Laboratory. Following his residency in Orthopaedic surgery at Wright State University in Dayton, OH, Dr. Porter completed his fellowship in Foot and Ankle surgery with Tom Clanton,MD and Don Baxter, MD in Houston, TX. Prior to his fellowship Dr Porter also completed a 3 month senior elective in Foot and Ankle surgery with James Amis, MD in Cincinnati, OH In 1996, Dr. Porter joined Methodist Sports Medicine Center staff (NOW Forte Sports Medicine and Orthopedics) where he is active in clinical practice, research, and teaching. In addition, Dr. Porter serves as instructor at University Indianapolis School of Physical Therapy and the Purdue University Athletic Training program.

In addition to publications in scientific journals and presentations before physicians, Dr. Porter has been involved in written and spoken contributions to the NFL team physicians, American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society, American College of Sports Medicine. Dr Porter also serves as the Foot and Ankle consultant to the Indianapolis Colts, Purdue University and Butler University as well as numerous other colleges in central Indiana. Dr Porter has also been integrally involved in the care of professional athletes including the NFL, NBA and professional Ballet performers. Dr Porter was cited in April 23rd 2012 edition of Street & Smith’s Sports Business Daily Journal recognized as a leading specialist as it pertains to foot and ankle sports injuries and conditions. And, was awarded the ISMA Commission of Sports Medicine recipient of the Team Physician Award in 2013.

Marque Allen

DPM, FACFAS

Dr. Allen graduated from Rowan University, attended medical school at Temple University, and completed four years of surgical residency and a fifth-year Fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center. He is board-certified in Foot Surgery and Rearfoot (Ankle) and Reconstructive Surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, as well as a Fellow of the American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine. He also has a Certificate of Advanced Qualification in Sports Medicine from the American Board of Podiatric Medicine. Currently, he is the Fellowship Director of Sports Medicine Associates Foot and Ankle Fellowship. Dr. Allen has been a founding partner of Sports Medicine Associates in San Antonio, TX since 2006. He serves as the foot and ankle consultant to multiple university and professional teams, most notably the San Antonio Spurs. Dr. Allen has also been a member of the NBA’s committee on ankle sprain injuries and helped create the NBA screening evaluation tests.

Jason Krystofiak

MD

Jason Krystofiak, MD, CAQSM, a primary care sports medicine physician, is the Section Chief of Sports Medicine at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center and the Medical Director of Sports Medicine and Medical Director of the Matthew J. Morahan III Health Assessment Center for Athletes at RWJBarnabas Health. He is one of the team physicians for Rutgers Athletics including the team physician for Rutgers Football. Dr. Krystofiak is also a Clinical Assistant Professor of Family Medicine and Community Health at Rutgers - Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (RWJMS). He previously served as the Medical Director for Sky Blue FC.

Karli Richards

DPM, FACFAS, CWSP

Dr. Richards earned her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia. She then completed residency at St. Luke’s Hospital in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, where she served as chief resident. She also earned a master’s degree in health care administration from Capella University in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Dr. Richards serves as a podiatric medical advisor for U.S. Soccer and as an ambassador for Spirit of Football, promoting equality and equal pay for female soccer players. Board certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and the American Board of Wound Management.

Terris Dior Hightower

PT, DPT, MS, ATC, CSCS

Hightower is a performance therapist, sport scientist, and foot & ankle researcher from the United States. He spent 2.5 years as a performance therapist and sport scientist with the Washington Wizards & Washington Mystics of the NBA & WNBA respectively. He also spent 1 year as the head performance coach & assistant athletic trainer for the Capital City Go-Go of the NBA G-League in his last season in 2022. He has a BS in Athletic Training degree from the University of West Florida, an MS in Sport Science degree from American Public University, and is currently finishing up a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree (DPT) at Elon University for 2025. He currently teaches in an adjunct professor role in the Kinesiology Department at the University of North Carolina A&T State University and consults with NBA teams regarding basketball-specific foot & ankle pathomechanics. Terris is a passionate speaker and life-long learner who loves uncovering thought holes in applied biomechanics and physiotherapy practices to improve athlete care and outcomes

Selene Parekh

MD, MBA

Dr. Selene Parekh is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic foot and ankle surgeon. He is currently an orthopaedic surgeon at Rothman Orthopaedic Institute and a Professor of Orthopaedics at the Sidney Kimmel College of Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University. Dr. Parekh is known for utilizing state-of-the-art implants and techniques designed and developed to provide better treatments and offer limb salvage. Dr. Parekh also focuses on minimally invasive surgery and is a pioneer in the use of 3D printing techniques, total ankle replacements, and the treatment of foot and ankle conditions in athletes. 

An alumnus of Boston University, Dr. Parekh earned a Bachelor's Degree in Medical Clinical Sciences and Classical Civilization, followed by a Master of Business Administration in Health Care Management, and a Doctor of Medicine. Additional educational pursuits include a residency in orthopedic surgery, a Fellowship in Health Care Entrepreneurship and a second Fellowship in Foot and Ankle Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Parekh continued his education with a certificate in Artificial Intelligence from the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. 

A respected educator, Dr. Parekh previously served as Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Duke University, where he taught and trained medical students, residents and fellows. He also served as an Adjunct Faculty Member at the Fuqua Business School at Duke University and was the Director of Digital Strategy and Innovation in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery. Dr. Parekh formerly served as the Co-Chief of the Foot and Ankle Division at Duke University and was an Consultant to the Elon University Athletics Department. Prior to Duke, he was an Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of North Carolina. 

In addition to his responsibilities as a surgeon and scholar, Dr. Parekh has been the Chief Executive Officer and media personality of The Fantasy Doctors since 2016. An expert in the fantasy sports industry, he provides his insight and wisdom as he reports on the latest injuries of athletes and makes predictions about their health that can directly affect their playing ability. Aside from his full-time obligations in the field, Dr. Parekh is deeply invested in his community. He and his wife, started the Parekh Family Foundation. By conducting numerous charitable clinics and surgical procedures for indigent patients throughout the world, and teaching and training physical therapists, the Foundation helps to support the education and care of foot and ankle patients throughout the world. 

With the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the foundation pivoted its efforts from in-person to virtual education, reaching more healthcare providers and patients globally. He and his wife have also been responsible for establishing the Gunvant and Bharati Parekh College Scholarship program. Widely published, Dr. Parekh has contributed articles to various professional journals and has served as the editor for several medical textbooks. He has also become a frequent speaker at regional, national and international conferences on an array of topics. In his spare time, Dr. Parekh often studies technology as it pertains to medicine and other industries. He also began studying artificial intelligence and machine learning, which has led to his contributions to several companies that are currently developing techniques to refine and develop more customized implants for patients.

Nicholas J. Bevilacqua

DPM, FACFAS

Dr. Nicholas J. Bevilacqua is a board-certified, fellowship-trained foot and ankle surgeon.  He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Binghamton University and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine.  He then completed his internship and surgical residency in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery at St. Vincent's Catholic Medical Centers in New York. Subsequently, he pursued an additional year of fellowship training in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery and limb salvage at Rosalind Franklin University in North Chicago, IL.  This advanced fellowship focused on the conservative and surgical treatment of diabetic conditions affecting the lower extremity, including Charcot foot and ankle reconstruction. Dr. Bevilacqua also visited the Russian Ilizarov Scientific Centre for Restorative Traumatology and Orthopaedics in Kurgan, Russia, where he received advanced training on the Ilizarov technique for correcting acute trauma and complex foot and ankle deformities. He is board-certified in Foot Surgery and Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery.  He is trained and certified in Total Ankle Replacement surgery and is one of the few surgeons in Bergen County actively performing this surgery.  He has been recognized as one of Bergen County's Top Doctors by Bergen Magazine on multiple occasions. Dr. Bevilacqua has published numerous articles on foot and ankle surgery in peer-reviewed journals and has also written several book chapters on the subject.  He is an active member of his profession and regularly lectures at state and national levels. For five years, he served as a committee member on the Education and Scientific Affairs Committee for the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS), followed by his membership on the Surgical Skills Committee for ACFAS.  ACFAS provides superior continuing medical education to foot and ankle surgeons in the United States. He is frequently invited as a faculty member at the ACFAS Foot and Ankle Arthroscopy Surgical Skills course held at the Orthopaedic Learning Center in Chicago, IL.  Currently, he serves as a member of the Medical Education Committee for Holy Name Hospital and Medical Center. Dr. Bevilacqua treats a wide range of foot and ankle conditions, including complex reconstruction and trauma, and offers minimally invasive surgical (MIS) techniques when appropriate. He is committed to providing patient-centered, evidence-based care with the goal of restoring function, relieving pain, and facilitating a timely return to activity. Dr. Bevilacqua resides in Haworth, NJ with his wife and two children. He enjoys snowboarding and is an avid cyclist.

Bob Anderson

Dr. Anderson grew up in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin and his medical career has taken him all over the nation. He is a well-sought-after orthopedic surgeon by professional athletes across the country. He began his path in orthopedic surgery at The University of Mississippi as an undergraduate majoring in Biology. After undergrad, he returned home to Wisconsin to obtain his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin. Dr. Anderson has covered the Green Bay Packers for the last six years, prior to covering the Carolina Panthers for 18 years.
